Dr. Tim Barker, medical director at HTCHC and an advisor to ACU on health IT issues, said "Since implementing the EHR system in 1997, Heart of Texas Community Health Center continues to optimize the system to improve health care quality, efficiency and access to care. The EHR is the cornerstone of our disease management efforts, giving us the ability to apply decision support at the point of care and systematically identify patients who are due for services when they fail to return as planned."
