What is a health administrator?
Definition
Every hospital and community health center needs efficient and
effective management especially those in underserved areas. The face of health care is a rapidly and continuously
changing structure that my cause confusion and disunity within the
health care community. A health administrator or manager is integral
in maintaining unity in the health care team.
Managers must be able to spot gaps in care as well as maintenance
of health services in order to coordinate a well-rounded and adequate
system of care. Managers
may direct activities in the clinical field such as nursing, therapy,
surgery, medical records, and health information.
Managers also have to coordinate finances.
Managers are arguably one of the most important players in
the health care transdisciplinary community.
They must work closely with all health professionals, coordinate
care, supervise roles, and compensate the professionals as required.
