What is a Nurse Midwife? - Definition
There is a growing need for nurses everywhere especially in underserved
areas. The nurse is truly a multi-role health worker. They provide
direct assistance through observing, assessing, and recording symptoms;
assisting physicians during treatments and examinations; administer
medications; and assist in convalescence and rehabilitation. In
a majority of health care settings, nurses are primary health care
providers. They commonly synchronize information between patients
and health workers. Nurses also act as health advocates as well
as health educators. In a transdisciplinary care setting, information
recorded from the patient should be relayed to all health professionals.
